Aqua-Plus Swim School offer the Swim England - Learn To Swim Programme. Follow the links below to see the swimming stages currently used when teaching your son or daughter to swim, each child must complete all sections of the stage to achieve the award.

Badges and Certificates can be purchased once your son or daughter has completed all sections of the stage. Badges & Certificates cost £4.50 per set.

Duckling Stages

Duckling Awards are the next step on from the Discovery Duckling Awards.

They are designed to help toddlers enjoy learning to swim with help from their parents or guardians.

With Duckling Awards your child can work towards four different colourful Awards. Each Award has its own certificate and badge.

Duckling 1 will see children start to move by themselves in the water.

By Duckling 4 they will be jumping in, going underwater, floating and travel 10 metres without support.

Duckling Awards are great at promoting increased independence and water confidence to help prepare for Stage 1 of the Learn to Swim Framework.

Learn to Swim Stages

The Swim England Learn to Swim Awards are a great way to keep learners of all ages and abilities motivated throughout their swimming journey. The Awards scheme includes both core and complementary Awards, which align with the four Learn to Swim Frameworks.

Core Awards encourage progress and ensure learners gain the key skills needed to be confident, competent and safe in the water.

Complementary Awards provide extra motivation by rewarding individual achievements and encouraging learners to try new skills.

Learn to Swim Stages 8 - 10

Swim England Swimming Stages 8 - 10 Awards make up the Aquatic Skills Framework of the Learn to Swim Programme. They continue the swimmer's journey past Learn to Swim Stage 7 of the Learn to Swim Framework.

Your children will be challenged to develop a wide range of skills and stamina in order to achieve the Awards, with a focus on good stroke style.

There are three core Awards in each of the below specialisms in Learn to Swim Stages 8 - 10. Swimmers are encouraged to choose one specialism to focus on.

Swimming Challenge Awards

Swim England Swimming Challenge Awards are for young people working towards the latter stages of Learn to Swim Stages 1-7 or Learn to Swim Stages 8-10 of the Aquatic Skills Framework, with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Honours Awards available.

Your children will be challenged to develop a wide range of skills and stamina in order to achieve the Awards, with a focus on good stroke style.

Stroke style for the Swim England Swimming Challenge Awards doesn’t have to comply with ASA law, but strokes must be co-ordinated, smooth and efficient.

Together with four certificates and accompanying badges, the Awards also come with a metal lapel badge with butterfly fastener as an optional extra.
